Job Overview

You will be responsible for creating compelling marketing automation workflows using SalesForce’s premier multi-channel marketing automation tool SalesForce Marketing Cloud/ ExactTarget . You will also be required to communicate and work closely with various digital marketing teams of large organization and design multi-channel campaigns as per their marketing strategies and initiatives.

You should have worked on at least 6 full lifecycle campaigns using ExactTarget, preferably in a multi-channel setup.

Your understanding of marketing strategies and ability to convert strategies into suitable design and implementation plan on ExactTarget platform will be the part of your responsibility.

Conceptual knowledge of integration of ExactTarget with various other products within Salesforce Marketing Cloud and 3rd party products.


  • 6-7 years of experience on Marketing Automation platforms (eg. ExactTarget, IBM UNICA, Oracle Eloqua, Marketo)
  • Mandatory 2+ years of experience on ExactTarget
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Exposure to RDBMS/ SQL/Web-Services is a good to have
  • Exposure to Email Studio (Content Builder & Standard Editor)
  • Good knowledge of Ampscripts
  • Ability to build Data Extensions on Exact Target
  • Experience in creating journey on Journey Builder
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, quickly changing, and demanding environment
  • Should have excellent communication skills and be able to interface directly with clients and higher management.
  • Should have excellent presentation skills and should be able to clearly communicate ideas, thoughts, and strategies.

Roles & Responsibilities include;

  • Maintain data standards and procedures to ensure complete and accurate data in ExactTarget.
  • Implement marketing automation campaigns using ExactTarget tool by identifying segments, setting up campaigns, emails, landing pages, and forms/form processing
  • Perform A/B testing, monitor campaign performance and lead optimization efforts
  • Create schematics of data and user flow scenarios
  • Configure workflows, create data load jobs
  • Design and code complex html and JavaScript for email, unsubscribe pages, new target pages

Domain specific Skills;

· ExactTarget solutions, campaign management, planning a marketing program, and designing a campaign

o Sending Deliveries: Email Template setting, ensuring deliverability & execution

o Segmentation: Managing recipient data, filtering conditions and combining query results along with application of standard exclusions

o Executing Campaigns: Configuring approval cycles, proof validation and final execution of campaign workflow.

o Should have prior experience on creating Advanced Campaigns; A/B Testing, designing multi-channel & Cross-channel campaigns and event triggered recurring campaigns.

o Creating personalized email & conditional content, managing subscription & targeting subscribers

o Direct Mail Campaigns; Creating/establishing Control Groups, Seed List population and configuring & executing direct mail campaigns.

o Post Campaign Analytics & Reporting; Delivery & Campaign reports, measuring campaign results.
